Masseria Pilano is an agricultural farm that stretches for about 250 hectares in the heart of the Murgia. The main activity is the cattle breeding of the so called Podolica Pugliese. Masseria Pilano has about 50 Podolica selected cows that live wildly in the woods and in the pasture. The type of the cattle breeding is the cow-calf line: after the weaning of calves, which occurs in about 8 months of age, they are put on weight with natural methods and mainly fed with organic vegetable flour of our own production (barley and broad bean) and then about 18 months ready for the slaughter. Our cows meat is of an exceptional quality and you can find in the local butchers (Crispiano, Grottaglie, Martina Franca, Bari and Matera).
